Short description of the project:
Design and implementation of a system for secure remote monitoring and management of electronic devices in a household. An example concept was created using a cooling system (air conditioning) and a mailbox. The system has both hardware and software design solutions. The hardware design consists of microcontrollers, sensors and actuators that are placed in the household and are tasked with making existing electronic devices “smarter”. The software design is a mobile application through which devices are monitored and managed. The communication between the microcontrollers and the mobile application, as well as for user authentication and system security, are incorporated through several cloud-based services from the Firebase platform. The system allows complete overview and control of the home, with only Internet access, through a single central control point (the mobile application).
