Short description of the project:

In this diploma thesis an innovative concept of intelligent microgrid has been considered. The concept is about special type of intelligent power network – microgrid, that is designed to operate connected to the distribution system, but in some cases (for example, fault in the distribution system) it can be disconnected and should operate independently by using the available resources (dispersed generation, energy storage) in order to supply the critical consumers. The diploma thesis studies the application of this type of microgrid for power supply of a holiday cottage. The simulation of the system is based on real data for consumption, generation of electricity from photovoltaics and adequately dimensioned energy storage system.
