Short description of the project:

The project Electronic chess board is prepared by Dejan Pejchinovski as his diploma thesis. The chess board functions using RFID readers placed under each of the 64 squares and RFID tags under each of the 32 chess pieces. The 6 Slave microcontrollers, the Wi-fi module and the 12 MOSFETs are controlled by a Master microcontroller. The position pf the chess pieces is determined by reading the chess board squares by groups (A1, D1, G1, A5, D5, G5), followed by another group (A2, D2,…) and so on, until completing the information for the whole board. The next steps include movement of the chess pieces on the graphical interface, writing of the performed move (FIDE notation), generating a sound and testing for pat or mat position. After the completion of these steps, the next move can be processed.
